I'm going to be in AUS after the new year.... I would like to stay as long
as possible.... I will have about $6,000 canadian and would like to work
pretty much anywhere for cash. I am 31 so cannot get a working VISA.

Can someone fill me in as to how long i could stretch $6,000? and what kind
of jobs might be possible to get??

Thanks in advance...

A few points.

(1) Although you are over 26 you may still be able to get a working
visa. I have heard of a number of cases where people give reasons why
they could not apply sonner, eg education (a very good one)and often
get it.

(2) It depends what skills you have, where you want to work and what
you are willing to do. The vast majority of employers wont employ you
though. You could try fruit picking, work at the backpackers,

(3) $200AUD per week would let you exist. $500 - $1000 per week and
would give you a reasonable budget for travel/extras etc. You
certainly dont want to just exist
