University IT jobs

Universities have lots and lots of people employed in IT support jobs. Even
the smallest department has two IT support staff - maybe young people who
plug in cables , reset printer queues and change passwords (and pretend to
keep the software installations happy).


There must be a fair number of people who start in these positions each
year, right ?

Well where are the adverts ?

Nowhere. They dont advertise them.

Nepotism is alive and well at university wrt to IT.
IF these were Academic positions, there would be hundres of court cases
initiated per week.

Whats wrong wif pretending? A well-paid easy job is desireable.

Its nepotism to only advertise to a limitted place, a place which attracts
few except those who know where to look ...
